Our Wedding at the Farm

We got married in a pasture full of animals at Serenity Farms on September 28, 2003. They were calling for rain this day, but we were blessed with perfect weather. Let me set the stage so you have an idea of how the day began. All of our guests parked at the bottom of the hill, and Frank, the owner of the farm, rode everyone up to the tobacco barn on a tractor with a flatbead trailer attached with hay bales for sitting. Once at the top, everyone then waited for me and hubby to arrive, also on a tractor, but with me sitting on the front hood, weather overalls, a daisy may straw hat, pig tales and heels. Hubby in overalls with no shirt, cowboy hat and cowboy boots. At that point, everyone made there way inside the tobacco barn where we had an old-fashioned truck from Budweiser with tap handles for beer and a super-sized grill with loads of food that was cooked by my hubby. We had bbq ribs, green beans and bacon, (ADD MORE STUFF HERE). Prior to the actual day of the wedding, I got to decorate the entire barn inside and out in a fall-theme. There were pumpkins, scarecrows that the kids made, cornstalks, and loads of really cool old stuff from around the farm. I was in my glory with that part and especially knowing that the next day was gonna be a big one. My husband built the dance floor and we had hale bales also around the edges for sitting. That day we had a band for the beginning half of the day and a D.J. for the end. My only regret is that I never had a professional photographer, and wished I could go back in time and get loads of pictures from the ceremony in the field to pictures of the animals in and around the farm. We owe Frank and his daughter Teresa loads of thanks, because they went out of their way to make sure our day went on without a hitch!

Hope you enjoy some of the photos that we did get...........and I think you'll laugh yourself silly when you view our wedding video with the animals.
